Albertino B. "Tino" Amador

Albertino B. “Tino” Amador, age 79, a longtime resident of Dorchester and Stoughton, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 16, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Maria J. Amador for 53 years and the son of the late Dionisio and Orisa Amador.

Tino was born in Brava, Cape Verde where he attended grade school but moved to Lisbon, Portugal to complete his education.  In 1961 he immigrated to the United States and started working for Economy Glass in Dorchester until they closed their doors in 1990.  He then worked for Nedic Power General until his retirement.

Tino loved spending time with his family and friends, nurturing his vegetables in his garden and rooting for his Boston sports teams and his beloved Portuguese soccer team, Sporting.  When Tino was not doing one of these things, you could see him playing golf, which was his passion, at Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton, where he was a member or tinkering around with power washers, weed whackers, lawn mowers and anything else with a motor.

In addition to his wife, Tino is survived by his daughter, Lisa M. Amador of Taunton, his son, Robert N. Amador of Rochester, his nephew he thought of as a son, Michael Amador of Stoughton, his 3 granddaughters, Ashley, Samantha and Courtney, his 2 grandsons, Benjamin and Isaiah, his younger brother, Joseph D. Amador of Easton and many beloved nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph and his brother, Joaquim A. Amador.

Tino will surely be missed by everyone he knew, as he was one of the rare people in life that touched your heart and could always make you laugh.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, July 20 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.  Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Tino‘s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
