Alan M. Montgomery, 63, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Roslindale, he was raised and educated in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1973, where he played trumpet and was a member of the marching band. He was a Ham Radio operator under the call name of WA1JPX. He worked as a Software Technician at several area employers for many years. Alan was a nature lover who enjoyed camping, hiking and rock climbing. He had a love of animals and maintaining bird feeders and feeding neighborhood animals.
Alan was the son of Virginia M. (Sawyer) Leonard and the late Robert F. Montgomery. He was the stepson of the late Charles Leonard. He was the brother of James B. Montgomery and his wife Debra of NC. He was the uncle of Robin, Andrew, Matthew and Gregory Montgomery. He is also survived by his great nephews Vincent and Nathan Montgomery and Aaron Manella-Montgomery.
