Adolfo Garcia da Silva, 84, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died on Friday, June 24 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband of 65 years of Maria M. (Martins) da Silva. Born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was raised and educated in Faial. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1968. Mr. da Silva was a supervisor at Stoughton Elastic Web for 13 years before retiring in 1981. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Club Luis de Camoes.
Mr. da Silva was the father of Adolfo M. da Silva of S. Orleans, Adelia Costa of Stoughton and the late Antonio M. G. da Silva. He was the brother of Eduina Rodrigues of Portugal. He is also survived by his grandson, Charles A. da Silva, 6 additional grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
