Adella Coe

Adella "Dute" (Kucinskas) Coe, 76, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Kindred Goddard Hospital in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of 52 years of William F. Coe. She was the daughter of the late John Kucinskas and Mary (Barzdziukas) Kucinskas. Born and raised in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton schools and a lifelong resident. She was also a graduate in the Class of 1957 at Bridgewater State College. Mrs. Coe worked as a teacher in the Stoughton and Easton school systems for over 15 years, retiring many years ago. As a young woman, she worked at the family tailor shop and at Coe's Fish Market, both in Stoughton. She also enjoyed waitressing in the summers with her sisters at Homeport and Tashmoo Inn, both located on Martha's Vineyard. She was very creative and artistic and enjoyed all crafts, quilting, needlepoint and was a member of the Society of Decorative Painters. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family and spending summers in Onset.

She was the mother of John M. Coe and his wife Elizabeth of Lakeville and was the beloved Nana of Amanda, Lauren, Kathryn and Faith Coe. She was the sister of Mary Cowgill of Easton and the late Lillian Russell and Nellie Vincent. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
