Adeline M. (Struzziero) Carter, 86, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 25, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Paul A. Carter for 61 years. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1947 and was a Captain for both the field hockey and basketball teams. She was inducted into the Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame. She was also a graduate of Fisher Junior College in Boston, Class of 1949. Mrs. Carter was a bookkeeper at Independence Exhibitors, Inc. in Boston for many years before retiring 30 years ago. She enjoyed playing golf and tennis and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Adeline is survived by her sons, Gary P. Carter and his wife Mary Anne of Holbrook, James R. Carter and his wife Cheryl of Burlington and David A. Carter and his wife Patricia of Stoughton. She was the sister of Edmund Struzziero of Wilbraham and the late Mary Jacobs. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, May 29 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
